The Lady Forester Hospital was built by the Forester family and given to the community for Total health and medical needs

1945

Joined the National Health Service

1989

Closure by the Area Health Authority

1996

The building re-opened as a Day Care Centre after 6 years of negotiation and fundraising

1997

The Residential and Respite Unit opened

1998

On May 15th The Lady Forester Residential and Day Care Centre was officially opened by Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal

1999

The Opportunist Club was launched for disabled people

2000

Domiciliary Care service commenced

2007

The ‘Brook Weld’ extension was opened

The Lady Forester Hospital Trust is a Registered Charity (Charity No. 1010199) and totally invests its income in the facilities and services offered by The Lady Forester Centre.
